As many know, Denver newspaper reporter Penny Parker passed away on Jan. 2, 2016. PRSA Colorado member and colleague of Penny, Maggie Chamberlin Holben, APR said:
“Our personal passions intersected with the Today Show and See’s Candy. I’d notice something on the show (usually an outfit or hair style) and look forward to Penny’s take on it…she was spot on and often made me laugh out loud with her critiques. Her favorite at See’s was the St. Patrick’s Irish Potato Candy (fitting with her red hair). I remember one year when I posted a picture of my See’s potato (they’re only available for a short time each year) and she shared how her mom always made those a special treat when she was growing up in California. Hopefully she’ll get her hands on one in heaven this year…miss you, Penny!”

4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22
EXDO Events Center, 1399 35th Street, Denver
Friends and fans of Penny Parker’s will be sharing memories and excerpts of her columns over snacks and cocktails (cash bar). Admission is free, but donations to one of Penny’s favorite charities — Sense of Security, the First Tee and the Denver Dumb Friends League — are strongly encouraged, as are reservations.
