There aren’t many more scenic places in Denver to recognize the leadership of PRSA’s board and past presidents than on the top floor of 17th Street Plaza, with its panoramic views of downtown and the Rocky Mountains.

On June 5, just before sunset, that was the setting for this year’s PRSA Colorado Garden Party—an annual opportunity to thank the board members for all their work throughout the year. It was great to have several past presidents of PRSA Colorado in attendance as well.

About 20 people attended the event, which was held in the tap room of Molson Coors Brewing Company headquarters. A special thank you to Molson Coors for donating its space (and beer) for this year’s event.

For my part, I tried Batch 19, a lager with a very cool concept. It was created from a pre-prohibition recipe discovered in an old logbook prior to 1919.

It was the first event I had ever helped coordinate—both as a public relations professional and as a new member of the PRSA Colorado Social Event committee. Helping to coordinate the event was a great learning experience for me and an opportunity to grow professionally.

Learning and developing new skills is a big reason why I joined PRSA Colorado and part of what makes it such a great organization. It offers fantastic opportunities across a number of platforms, for mentorship and professional development.

Of course, that is all made possible by the leadership and community involvement of the board members and past presidents who attended the Garden Party, as well as the many others who have served on behalf of the organization over the years. Here’s to another great year for PRSA Colorado, and we hope that you will join us at more Social Committee events this year. Cheers!
