On April 3, 21 young pros braved the wind and rain to attend PRSA YPs speed networking event. Sushi Hai offered drink specials and discounted snacks to start the evening off with a bang. Committee chairs Ashley Pritchard and Meghan Stinton explained the process: Attendees would make two parallel lines and whomever you’re across from is who you chat with for a minute and a half.
Ninety seconds doesn’t seem like a long time, but the pros were ready with quick elevator introductions – and when the line made it around a second time, people picked up the conversation up where it left off.
It wasn’t just public relations practitioners who attended – people from the publishing, healthcare and insurance industries dropped in, too.
“We had great attendance across a variety of industries,” Ashley Pritchard said. “It goes to show that a wide range of people are looking for a fun, low-key event to get to know other professionals in Denver.”
Well, a few may have shown up for the giveaways. Among the swag was a gas card, two tickets to Yves St. Laurent: The Retrospective at the Denver Art Museum and a copy of the YP’s next book club read, “Normal Gets You Nowhere.”
